Events and stuff

Okay. So I think its a good idea to post things on the home/ portal page about contests/ tourneys going on regularly. It would probably keep users more interested/ remind them that it actually IS going on. Like, there could be a little section in the portal specifically for things like tournaments and contests with links to the threads they sign up in etc. Yes or No?

I also find that the huge announcement banners that are at the top of the forums should be on the portal instead. It's one thing if it's a small, scrolling bar, but the large banner and countdown thing are a bit much IMO. On top of the banner that we already have at the top of the forum.......

The portal's purpose is to have things like events and info and stuff so that it has its own place that is easily seen by all the members, which I agree, works better than just posting about them, and spamming the top of the forum with banners about it.

The banners on the forum page are annoying, and I think someone's mentioned it before, but someone keeps putting them up there.. -.-

Since we mostly seem on the same page, i think its a good idea to make this section soon as we now have a contest and a tournament both going on. And i agree, the stuff on the home page takes up space-ish and is better suited for the portal, since thats what its there for.
