PSL Project Two: Music

Post by Ace on Tue Jul 27, 2010 6:49 am

I know Jack has been posting music already so he can put them here. Other music we need is...

-Intro
-Professor Lab
-Wild Battle
-Legend battle
-Vs Gym Leader
-Different Towns
-Surfing
-Diving (Still not sure if we're hacking FR or E)
-Caves
-Vs Elite 4
-Vs Champion

Add more to the list, I know I forgot alot

If we're hacking a ROM, Making music is way harder than you guys think. You dont just make .mp3 files and insert them. You have to code the music from scratch, only using the instruments the ROM provides. If we code a game from scratch though, well, it may or may not be simpler, I dunno on that.

This. It would be a beautiful world if ROMs understood .mp3 files. There's a program called Sappy that supposedly adds music, although it's very old, and I haven't figured out how to really use it, mainly because it won't even run for me. Also, IIRC, only MIDI music can be used, which means creation and precision of the file will be faaar more complex and non-seamless as most would like it to be.
