Ok my internet connection is WPA and my DS needs WEP, is there any way around this?

Yes there is! Go here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/routers/index.jsp and select your router and model. Then follow the steps in order to change your internet connection to WEP.

If that doesn't work slam the DS on your mom's pen1s. That always works for me.

There are so many problems with this statement that I'm not even sure where to begin. I am not entirely sure how I feel knowing your mother has a pen1s that you actually look at every day, and I'm not sure how appealing wrinkly old pen1ses are, considering I've never actually seen one of the sort.

I also have no idea what a pen1s is. Is the 1 supposed to be censoring an L? PenLs sounds like a really bad version of, like, long earlobes or something. Pennels. Or is it penones? Considering neither you nor Kai are hyenas, I highly doubt it's the other thing I'm not going to bother to mention.

Anyway, Shay pretty much nailed the answer; I could give you personal help but it is so much easier for everybody if you actively search for it, like using the provided link with Shay's instructions. There's no possible way to connect to a WPA connection with a DS, so yes, it is absolutely mandatory to switch the connection to either WEP or nothing. Hope that helps!
